The federal government of Nigeria has sacked about four directors in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Agency and merging about 6 directorates in the agency to 3.

According to a report by nigerianflightdeck.com, the decision to merge the departments was taking at an emergency meeting held on Wednesday in Abuja, where letters of termination were handed out to some the directors while a resignation letter handed last week by the Director Consumer Protection Directorate, Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi was accepted.

According to the report, the Consumer Protection Directorate( CPD) has been merged with the Directorate of Air Traffic Regulation ( DATR) which is now headed by Oyo-Ita as Director.

General Aviation has also been folded into Directorate of Air Worthiness Standards ( DAWS) as Captain Ayodele Sasegbon and Engineer Ita-Awak have been issued letters of termination.

Directorate of Training was also merged with Director of Licensing with Captain Bahago E. Aemerging as Director while Captain Abdullani Sidi received a letter.

There are indications also that Director of Human Resources and Admin, Mr. Ahmed Abbas Sanusi with the Director of Finance and Account were retained along with the Directors.

Recall in February 2017, Federal Government carried out a similar action sacking most of the current Directors but made a u- turn in some cases while others including Engr. Benedict Adeyileka (the then Director of Airworthiness), Mr. Justus Wariya (the then Director of Air Transport Regulation), and Mr. Austin-Amadi Ifeanyi (Director of Human Resources) were let go.
