The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), led by its Director-General, Olayiwola Awakan, has paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, in Abuja to strengthen collaboration between Nigeria’s aviation and tourism sectors.

Awakan, accompanied by his team, visited Keyamo, who holds the titles of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), as part of efforts to reinforce the relationship between air transport and tourism development.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between aviation and tourism, particularly in improving the experience of visitors arriving in Nigeria, enhancing tourism information at airports, promoting Nigerian destinations through airlines, and exploring initiatives that can make travel within the country more seamless.

A key highlight of the visit was the decoration of the Honourable Minister as a Tourism Ambassador, in recognition of the important role of the aviation sector in advancing Nigeria’s tourism development.

The DG also shared NTDA’s vision for telling Nigeria’s stories more effectively, promoting our destinations, culture, festivals and heritage to both domestic and international audiences.

With stronger collaboration across agencies, Nigeria can create a more connected visitor experience and unlock greater opportunities for tourism.
