In a remarkable blend of heritage and modernity, twenty-one distinguished members of the Royals, Clergy, and Sheikhs Alliance, under the leadership of Okatakyie Nana Anim I, have been honoured with Executive Certificates in African Custodianship and Digital Age Leadership at a prestigious graduation ceremony held at the University of Knutsford in Accra.

The graduation ceremony marked the culmination of intensive classroom training programs, followed by a one – day education tour to Ati New Tafo and its surrounding communities. The programme, initiated by Okatakyie Nana Anim I, was designed to empower traditional rulers and faith-based leaders with 21st-century leadership tools while preserving the integrity of African cultural values and custodianship.

Empowering Heritage Leaders for the Digital Age

The curriculum covered critical areas such as transformational leadership, digital communication, ethical governance, and community development. Participants included chiefs, pastors, imams, and sheikhs from diverse regions, fostering interfaith unity and collaborative thinking.

Okatakyie Nana Anim I, who led the initiative, emphasized the need for cultural leaders to evolve: “The world is changing rapidly, and our roles as custodians of tradition must also adapt. We must lead with wisdom, but also with knowledge of modern governance, digital tools, and inclusive leadership.”

Comprehensive Curriculum Rooted in Culture and Innovation

The training featured a robust and well-structured curriculum designed to bridge the gap between ancestral wisdom and emerging global trends. Participants were taken through the following modules:

  1. Foundations of African Leadership and Custodianship
  2. African Custodianship: History, Philosophy, and Cultural Preservation
  3. Conflict, Law, and Territorial Custodianship
  4. Spiritual and Emotional Intelligence in Custodianship
  5. Custodial Leadership in Entrepreneurship
  6. Custodial Mentorship for Youth Leadership and Environmental Stewardship*
  7. Sustainable Tourism, Climate Resilience, and Heritage Leadership

Appreciation for Visionary Leadership

As a gesture of heartfelt appreciation, the graduates presented a gift to Okatakyie Nana Anim I for his visionary leadership and commitment to their personal and professional growth. The presentation symbolized their gratitude for the opportunity to expand their understanding of modern custodianship and the digital world, and to become more effective leaders in their communities.

Voices of Impact

One of the beneficiaries, Sheikh Seidu Abdulai, reflected on the impact of the programme: “This training has opened our eyes to the importance of blending traditional wisdom with the tools of the digital age. We return to our communities with renewed vision and purpose.”

The Pro – Vice Chanselor , of the University of Knutsford applauded the initiative, stating that institutions of higher learning have a responsibility to serve not just students but community leaders. “Our universities must become spaces where heritage meets innovation, and where leaders are empowered to build a better Africa.”

A Vision for the Continent

The Royals, Clergy, and Sheikhs Alliance aims to promote peace, dialogue, and transformative leadership across Africa. With this training, they seek to pioneer a model of custodianship that honors tradition while embracing the demands of the modern world.

The event concluded with cultural performances, certificate presentations, and a collective pledge from the graduates to use their knowledge in advancing governance, peace-building, and sustainable development.
