The Project Officer of ATQnews.com, Patrick Wisdom has been listed as one of the top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria by naija7wonders.

Patrick Wisdom is a vibrant and goal-oriented young enthusiast with a deep passion for travel and tourism, dedicated to contributing value to the industry. Over the years, he has gained valuable experience and honed his skills in various roles.

His journey in the travel and tourism industry began at the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in the Customer Service Department. Here he reported on daily activities, recorded delayed and canceled flights, and consistently delivered exceptional customer service.

He had the privilege of welcoming passengers during boarding and skillfully assisting with stowing carry-on luggage, demonstrating his leadership abilities and coordination skills, even in stressful situations.

Seeking to expand his horizons and expertise, he joined African Travel Quarterly (ATQ) as an Assistant Project Officer before moving to the role of a Project Officer.

Here, he wrote news stories around the Tourism, Hospitality and Aviation Industry as well as Travel stories, he managed emails and social media handles and ensured the seamless organization of events such as the biggest tourism expo in West Africa (AKWAABA African Travel Market), Accra Weizo, The Wonders of Nigeria Expo.

Additionally, he worked as a photo and video coverage assistant, effectively showcasing the essence of tourist destinations. He also contributed to content planning and dissemination, research on tourism destinations, travel trends, and emerging industry developments.

In addition to his hands-on experience, he has pursued continuous learning and growth. He holds certifications in Foundations of Sustainable Tourism Destination Management in Netherlands, Sustainable Tourism Destination Management from the eCornell University New York, Tour Marketing & Management from Dubai College of Marketing, Sustainable Tourism and Environmental Public Health, Human Capital & Effective Customer Service in Hospitality and Tourism Organizations, Google Basic Digital Skill Training, and Leadership Mastery, South African Tourism Specialist Course and currently an SDG Advocate under the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network which aims to equip him with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to become a driving force in promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across Nigeria.

His proficiency extends to digital skills, encompassing internet and email applications, MS Office, video editing, and social media management, email marketing, WordPress and digital marketing.

As an intern at Green Destinations in the Netherlands, he his involved in various aspects of content development and management, including assisting with campaign execution and managing social channels. Additionally, he supports organic social media reporting and collaborate with internal stakeholders while interacting with the community. Most importantly, he’s been tasked with assisting in compiling and organizing information to curate the list of the top 100 sustainable tourism destinations globally.

Beyond his professional roles, he has also contributed as a volunteer to promoting and creating awareness to climate change mitigation efforts through his work with the media and communication team for Sayari Dunia Sustainable Tourism Foundation, an international organization dedicated to this cause.

Lastly, for three years, he held the esteemed position of Student Coordinator for the Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN) in the Southwest region. In this role, he guided and mentored over 200 students, helping them navigate their career paths and providing insights on how they can reach the peak of their careers.

In recognition of his dedicated service, he proudly received a Leadership Award from the Lagos State University of Science & Technology for his outstanding contributions to the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department.
