The Rivers State Tourism Development Agency(RSTDA) is collaborating with the National Orientation (NOA), to deepen its domestic tourism in the state.
According to a statement by the Director General/CEO, Of RSTDA, Yibo Koko, the agency had held a meeting with NOA to intimate it and her 23 Local Community Mobilisation Officers with the planned programmes and strategies the Rivers State Tourism Development Agency(RSTDA) has to deepen Domestic Tourism in Rivers State.
The NOA as an agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria is an Agency saddled with the responsibility of educating the public on government programmes and policies.
It is upon this premise that RSTDA has sought to build a working relationship with the NOA to awaken the tourism knowledge of citizens across the 23 LGAs of Rivers State and also galvanise local buy in and participation in the Programmes outlined by RSTDA to boost Domestic Tourism in Rivers State.
Also, on the 4th of January 2022, RSTDA held a meeting with people from the creative sector in Port-Harcourt at Hotel Presidential, to galvanize actions across the State to build collaboration, partnerships and actions to grow the Tourism Economy of Rivers State.
A Tourism Pavilion platform where strong commitments were made for everyone to collaboratively work together to first of all improve the image of Rivers State and work together to ensure the tourism sub-sectors that cut across entertainment, arts, craft, music, food, tech, TV/film, photography, hospitality et al, can be properly placed to increase the bankability of all these sectors in Rivers State.
The platform is not only meant to be domiciled in Port-Harcourt but across the 23 LGAs of Rivers State, this has led to RSTDA partnering with the National Orientation Agency(NOA) in Rivers State, under the leadership of Mr. Young Ayotamuno, to deepen the Tourism conversation at the Local Government and Community levels.
Creating platforms for local Tourism to be understood, appreciated and promoted in a manner that encourages economic growth, peace and development.
