Africa: Seychelles Anglican Church Welcomes Second Seychellois Bishop, Danny Elizabeth

The Anglican Diocese of Seychelles has elected Reverend Danny Elizabeth as its fifth Bishop, marking a historic moment as he becomes only the second Seychellois to hold the position.

The announcement has been met with warm congratulations from across the country, including from political movement Lalyans Nouvo Sesel, which praised Bishop-elect Elizabeth for his long-standing commitment to faith, service, and community.

“Your dedication has long inspired many,” the group said in a public statement. “Your new role is a testament to the respect and trust you have earned.”

“We wish you strength, wisdom, and grace as you embark on this important spiritual journey. May your leadership bring unity, compassion, and hope to all who look to the Church in these challenging times.”

Lalyans Nouvo Sesel extended its best wishes to Bishop-elect Elizabeth, praying for “strength, wisdom, and grace” as he steps into this vital spiritual role.
