Popular Nigerian singer and ‘Buga’ crooner, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel has been arrested in East African country of Tanzania by police after he allegedly failed to perform at a paid concert.
According to Punch, fans of the singer who had gathered at the venue of his advertised show in Tanzania left in anger and trashed the place after he failed to show up, viral videos have shown.
The Flyboy, Inc. superstar was scheduled to perform at the Warehouse, Old Nextdoor Arena in Tanzania, on Sunday night, as part of his Afro Classic World Tour. Following his failure to show up, a video of angry fans trashing the show’s venue had trended earlier. Voices could be heard in the background of the videos stating their displeasure with the singer’s attitude.
An angry voice was saying, “You will go in for it. You’ve caused damage in this country. I warned you yesterday.” Though the singer is yet to address the situation, his fans have knocked him concerning his actions.
A tweep, @poojamedia, said, “Kizz Daniel does it in Nigeria, arrives late for shows & na beg he go just beg. E don carry Naija mentality enter Tanzania, dem don arrest am.” Another tweep, @olamideofficial said, “The last time I said Kizz Daniel needs to fix up. Some people came for my head. Here we are again. Talent is never enough. If there is something causing these constant issues, it needs to be fixed.” The singer was reported to have arrived in the country earlier but refused to perform because of the unavailability of his clothes. Unconfirmed reports say Kizz Daniel forgot his bags in Uganda and refused to use anyone’s clothes or buy new ones.
It could also be recalled that Kizz Daniel was humiliated on stage while performing at a concert in the US a few weeks ago. In a video which surfaced online, fans were seen shouting and demanding for a refund of their money after the singer arrived some hours late for a concert. Despite attempts to cheer them up, they continued screaming “refund” to Kizz Daniel on stage. Some went to Twitter to also reprimand the singer for keeping them on their feet for four hours without showing up.
The pop star went on to tender an apology to his fans via his Instagram account, explaining that his passport was seized by the US consulate in Nigeria, leading to his immense lateness to the show. He has promised his fans that he would make it up with another show while their tickets remain valid.
