Africa World Airlines (AWA) has presented its International Operational Safety Audit Program (IOSA) certificate to the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
This follows the listing of the airline as an IOSA registered airline by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). AWA’s certificate is valid from May 1, 2015 to May 1, 2017.
“With the IOSA certification, customers can have comfort knowing that an IOSA registered airline does comply with the stringent standards and practices governing aviation safety.
“The IOSA registered member also opens doors for alliances and partnerships with other IOSA registered Airlines. It also puts AWA on the map for good business opportunities,” Samuel Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of AWA said.
In 2013, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) set the 15th September 2015 deadline for Airlines in Africa under their prestigious umbrella to have a quality control Audit which is the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) to satisfy various flight operations standards.
Africa World Airlines was audited from 27th April, 2015 to 1st May, 2015 and responded to all their findings.
The IOSA certification audit is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline with emphasis on universally accepted best practices in the Airline industry.
IOSA uses internationally recognized audit principles and is designed to conduct audits in a standardized and consistent manner.
