Preparations are in full swing for the 2025 edition of Zimbabwe’s Domestic Tourism Festive Season Campaign, set to be officially launched this Friday in the scenic resort town of Kariba under the theme “Experience Zimbabwe — Nhaka Yedu, Ilifa Lethu.”
According to heraldonline.co.zw, journalists from public and private were this morning taken on a pre-media tour of the campaign across the resort’s attraction centres.
The tour was organised by Tourism and Hospitality Industry Ministry in partnership with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA).
The reporters had the first-hand experience of the border town’s experience, starting with a two-hour game drive before visit the majestic Kariba Dam wall and other centres of attractions.
Players in the tourism industry and tourists alike, urged locals to embrace the campaign.
“Kariba is a beautiful place to be which has plenty of offers,” said Mr Gary Jollife a tourist.
A local tour guide said business was booming ahead of the festive season and encouraged locals across the country to take part in promoting local tourism.
Friday’s campaign come at the back drop of various pillars being implemented by the Second Republic to promote local tourism.
Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi and Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo will grace the occasion.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Lake Harvest Sports Club with plans expected to ignite local travel across Zimbabwe during the festive season, celebrating Zimbabwe’s shared cultural and natural heritage.
In 2024, Zimbabwe launched the “ZimBho” festive season campaign to promote domestic tourism, building on the previous campaigns.
