Akwaaba: SAT emerge one of the most influential companies in W/A

With over 12,000 registered travel and tourism entities in West Africa, South African Tourism has come among the Top 100 most influential and competitive brands in West Africa.

This is according to a survey done by one of the leading travel publications in West Africa, ATQ Magazine.

The award was given to organisations that have contributed to the growth and development of tourism in West Africa.

SAT which has been in the forefront of championing and encouraging intra-African tourism among countries in the continent was handed the award at the just concluded 12th Akwaaba Africa Travel Market held at Eko Hotel, Lagos.

The event which kicked started on the 30th of October 2016 opened with the “Africa Travel Awards and Dinner organised to award the top travel companies in West Africa for excellence in service delivery. It also attracted top government dignitaries from across West Africa, Southern and Central Africa, and East Africa.

The Travel Awards ceremony also served as an exciting way to thrills the guests and award recipients with enterprising dancing performance of the Carnival revellers dancers as a Pre-Carnival Party for Cross River State to introduce the 2016 Carnival Calabar, the biggest street party coming up in December.

The event also saw other travel organisation like West Tourism Management from Liberia, God’s Own Travel Agency (GOTA) Benin Republic, Africa World Airlines (AWA) Ghana and Kenya Airways emerging as winners of the Top 100 travel companies award.

Other winners of the award include: Flyboku.com, Tour Brokers International (TBI), The Wheatbaker Lagos, God’s Power Travel Agency Ltd, Dees Travels and Tours Ltd, Rewards Travels and Tours, Mayfair Travels Ltd, Satguru Travels, Travelstart, and Nike Lake Resort.

Also, British Airways, Ethiopian airlines, Rwandair, SAHCOL/SIFAX, De Edge Hotel, Southern Sun Ikoyi Hotel, Eko Hotel and Suites, Remlords Tours and Car Hire, GETCenter, Jemi-Alade Tours, ASKY, Emirates, Finchglow, ABC Transport, Akwaaba African Travel Market and Wakanow made the top 100 award list.
