Akwaaba African Travel Market in the company of www.atqnews.com paid courtesy visit to Mr. Marcel Andeweg, the General Manager of Golden Tulip Hotel FESTAC, Lagos.
The visit was part of a renewed effort from Akwaaba Aftm to further cement the relationship and enhance the benefits participating brands will be enjoying through continued patronage of the annual travel exhibitions which holds at the New Expo Center, Eko Hotel and Suites.

While fielding questions from the media, Mr. Andeweg revealed that the Golden Tulip brand has a vision to spread the hotel throughout Nigeria and West Africa.
He went on to say that that Golden Tulip is taking advantage of its proximity to the massive entrepreneurship base to service that sector within the area, while it has added extra value for clients who have shopping interest as a result of the recent citing of the Shoprite retail mall within its complex.
In his words, ‘Golden Tulip Festac offers a combination of leisure, shopping, sports, hospitality, and good food, all in one place’.

Golden Tulip 2 (1)It is worthy of note that Golden Tulip Hotel Festac enjoys an uncommon location, set very close to the Apapa/Tin-Can Island Sea port. The sea port is Nigeria’s major sea port which handles over 75 per cent of export and imports within Nigeria; the Muritala Mohammed International airport, Ikeja; a less than 15 minutes’ drive Marina/Victoria Island, and about 8 minutes to Alaba International Market which is situated on the international route between Nigeria and Benin Republic by road.

After the meeting, Mr. Nnamdi Onyewepu, a Senior Executive of the hotel, took the African Travel Market’s team which was led by Mr. Paul Kosarachi Ukachukwu, Akwaaba’s Project Officer, in the company of Mr. Renn Offor, Head, atqnews.com and Mr. Friday Nwosu, Asst. Head, round the magnificent facilities of the hotel.
Particularly intriguing is the fitness center, which we were informed could hold 150 persons in a session. It’s one of the best fitness centers any hotel could have.

The hotel has over 400 rooms, but only just over 300 rooms are operational as the hotel is intending some renovation work on the remaining rooms.

Interestingly, the hotel now has a new mall situated within the complex of the hotel which contains Shoprite as one of the retail shops operating in it. Hence, adding a lot of variety for shopping and other entertainment like cinemas within the mall.
