West Africa’s most profitable and Pan African airline, Asky is set to commence non-stop flight operation between Lome, the airline’s hub and Johannesburg effective 8 April 2017.
In a release by the airline, it said with the commencement of the flight operation, Johannesburg will join the growing network of the carrier operating from Lome.
It stated that passengers will be able to connect between Johannesburg and Asky’s entire network in West and Central Africa, including Abidjan, Bamako, Conakry, Dakar, Douala, Lagos, Libreville, Niamey, Ouagadougou and Yaounde.
Asky affirmed that many of these markets will able to reduce hours of flying with this new connection over the current schedules offered in the market.
The airline stated it will commence flight operations during the week on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays to Johannesburg and from Johannesburg to Lome on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays.
The flight will be operated with 737-800 aircraft, configured with 16 business class seats and 138 economy seats.
The West African carrier partially owned by Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest carrier had earlier signed a codeshare agreement with ET to expand its network.
According to atqnews.com, the new expanded agreement included flights to far East Asia, Americas, East Africa as well Middle East. The codeshare routes also include: Asky Airlines operated Ethiopian Airlines Lome-Newark, Lome-Sao Paulo Guarulhos.
The airline also currently Connects ET to N.Y. and Sao Paulo Brazil for Lagos passengers
Asky is the leading Airline in West Africa declaring a Profit of about $4M in 2015.
It recently took delivery of a brand new B737-800. It Operates out of Lome in Togo.
