In an effort to launch a new national carrier, 20 years after Air Guinée has gone bankrupt, Guinean authorities have commissioned a cabinet market analysis to that effect.

“It is imperative to provide our country with an airline company,” Goumou said during a cabinet meeting held last week.

Malian leader Assimi Goita lent his aircraft to Doumbouya to bring him to Mali on September 22. Air Guinée, founded in 1960, went bankrupt 20 years ago after privatization.

Former President Alpha Conde in 2017 instructed the rehabilitation of the airline with joint venture between Guinea-based Business Marketing (GBM) and French aeronautical group Regourd aviation group
