Aviation: Africa World Airlines to suspend Lagos and Abuja flight operations

Ghanaian leading carrier, Africa World Airlines (AWA), is set to suspend its flight operations to Lagos and Abuja international airports following the directive of the government to halt all international flight to both terminals.

The airline said it will suspend all flights to the airports after 23rd March 2020.

AWA said: “Pursuant to the instructions issued by Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Africa World Airlines will suspend our flights to Lagos and Abuja after 23MAR20.

“The last flights to both destinations will operate on Monday 23MAR20. AWA will ensure that sufficient seats are available for Ghanaians wishing to return to Accra prior to the suspension.

“Passengers on cancelled flights will receive notification of the cancellation via their original booking channel, and may either rebook to a future date or seek a refund.

AWA intends to continue operating flights from Accra to Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi, Wa, and Monrovia at this time. “
