Africa: Ayade flags off maiden edition of Akwa Cross Cycling Parade

Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade has flagged off the first edition of the Akwa Cross Cycling Parade in the state.

The parade which is first of its kind with the theme: “Cycling for Humanity” is done in conjunction with a sister state, Akwa Ibom.

Ayade who was represented by the deputy governor, Prof. Ivara Esu, called for the two states to use the occasion in fostering interstate relationship and called for peace between both states especially in the area of boundary clashes.

Also Speaking, Cross River State Commissioner for Tourism Mr Eric Anderson assured that the Akwa Cross Cycling Parade will be a yearly event powered by his ministry in collaboration his Akwa Ibom State counterparts.

Honorable Anderson also used the occasion to call for peace between Odukpani and Akwa Ibom Communities.

The flag off had in attendance the Deputy National Coach Nigerian Cycling federation Mr Emmanuel Onnasanya and other top government functionaries.
