The verification process, which was facilitated by the office of Special Adviser, Tourism Mr. Ubi Franklin Ekapong and the Senior Special Assistant, New Media, Mr. Offiong Onoyom was gotten on Wednesday at exactly 6 o’ clock in the evening.
Instagram, one of the biggest social media network platforms in the world uses it’s verification badge as a means of confirming the authenticity of the public figure, celebrity or global brand it represents.
Speaking after confirming the verification, Special Adviser, Tourism Mr. Ubi Franklin stated that he took it upon himself to work with the SSA New Media, Mr. Offiong Onoyom on the verification of all the governor’s social media handles because Governor Ayade is a global brand and must be recognized as such.
He further stated that the verification process would continue on all other social media platforms, so that Governor Ayade will take his place among world leaders on the social media space.
“When I came on board as SA Tourism I got in touch with the new media team of the governor and we have been working together to get the governor and the first lady’s account verified. The advantages of this are enormous as our dear governor has now taken his pride of place amongst his peers to have the Instagram verification badge,” he stated.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Ayade, Mr. Offiong Onoyom thanked Mr Ubi Franklin for his support during the process and promised to work hand in hand to get other social media handles of the governor verified.
“I am very excited about this news and would like to thank my brother Mr Ubi Franklin for his assistance all through the process.
The importance of getting the Governor’s handles verified cannot be over emphasised as this is the practice all over the world where leaders in public service, business, music and sports have verified badges separating their accounts from other accounts,” he said.
He advised all Cross Riverians to follow both the governor’s handle and that of the first lady for updates @sirbenayade and @drlindaayade respectively
