Capetown celebrates success of Africa travel week

CTICCFor the first time ever Cape Town and CTICC played host to the international Africa Travel Week. The exhibition, which was comprised of three co – located shows, namely World Travel Market (WTM) Africa, the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Africa and Incentives, Business Travel & Meetings (IBTM) Africa. These exhibitions targeted Africa’s inbound and outbound travel market for general leisure travel, luxury tourism, and the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) business travel sector. This was the first time that the three global brands were brought together in one country in one week.

Over 5000 travel professionals from over 35 African and international destinations convened at the centre to attend this event. Delegates hailed from a far afield as Cambodia, Dubai, India, France, Germany, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Portugal, Norway, Thailand, Turkey, Italy, Singapore, Israel, Malaysia, Namibia, Swaziland, Reunion and Botswana.

“CTICC was honoured to host such an auspicious event, connecting suppliers of African travel products inbound and outbound allowing travel opportunities to flourish in Africa and placing CTICC at the foreground of showcasing Africa’s ability to be a serious global contender in the meetings and events sector”, says General Manager for Commercial and Business Development, Megan Arendse.
