Chef Fatima Nasiru will be leading Abuja’s Top Chefs as they showcase ‘A Taste of the North’, a presentation of Nigerian Food Culture at the 6th Abuja Jabamah, the Nigerian Travel Expo.
Chef Fatima Nasiru is one of the most popular celebrity Chef in Abuja and Radio Host of “Kitchen Republic” on Human Right Radio 101.1FM in Abuja. The event will hold at the Exhibition Hall, International Conference Center (ICC) Abuja on the 16th November 2018.
Abuja Jabamah is the foremost Nigerian Travel Expo put together by the organizers of Akwaaba African Travel Market in its effort drive domestic Tourism as it seeks to play host to a huge travelling population, hotels, tour operators and travel agents for B2B Sessions and exhibitions while specifically showcasing of the tourism attractions of northern Nigeria. This year’s event will have Ghana, Ethiopia and South Africa attending.
The 6th Abuja Jabamah will see the unveiling and celebrating of the Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria and the induction of the winners into the Tourism 100 Club Nigeria.
Chef Fatima Nasiru hails from the northern part of Nigeria and graduated from Bayero University, Kano in 2014 after obtaining Diploma Certificate in Accounting & Auditing, Advance Diploma in Educational Management, Advance Diploma in Information Management and B.SC in Information Science in 2014.
Chef Fatima did the One year mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) from October 2014 to October 2015.
She is a Professional Chef, Entrepreneur, Public & Motivational Speaker and currently based in Nigeria’s Capital City, Abuja. She is also a member of Association of Professional Chefs in Nigeria; Member African Chef United and she is the Founder and CEO of Nisa Distributors & Suppliers Limited.
While doing her youth service in Abuja she was spotted by the officials of the NYSC and was provided an opportunity to be among the trainers to train corps members on food processing and house hold use items for the skill acquisition program of the NYSC. At the end of the service year in 2015, she was given an NYSC Honour Award for an Exemplary Service to Nigeria.
Chef Fatima is currently a radio Presenter at Human Right Radio 101.1FM in Abuja and also a Member of Brekete Family program. She anchors a program, “Kitchen Republic with Chef Fatima” which is aired on Human Right Radio 101.1 FM.
Chef Fatima represented Nigeria for Culinary Competition in Ghana 2016, in South Africa Happi Culinary Challenge in 2017 and in Lagos 2018 with contestants from all over Africa. Chef Fatima has trained well over ten thousand people on several areas on food processing and manufacture of house hold items within the last 6 years. To be on top of her profession and be innovative on her delivery of services, she has attended several professional & international trainings and Certifications on Food Processing within Nigeria and outside the country.
She attended several certification courses with The State University of New York-Global Food Service Institute (SUNY-GFI) and other institutions. Some of the trainings and certification include; Masters Certified Food Service Professional (MCFP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP1), Certified HACCP Professional (CHP), Certified Culinary professional (CCN).
According to her, “My dream is to train as many people as possible and contribute to the development of Nigeria by creating jobs and skills for thousands of Nigerian youths to be economically empowered”.
Chef Fatima was also featured in pleasures magazine in 2017 as one of the top 100 young entrepreneurs in Africa, I in collaboration with brekete family organised an event called world food day buffet in October 20, 2018 for the first time in the world.
