There was a fire outbreak inside the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Calabar (the Cross River State capital) earlier today, a source has informed Ekekeee.
Reports say the fire started after the sparking of electrical wires inside the hotel’s gas station.
The Transcorp Hilton stands a few meters away from the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar and often plays host to high profile guests and Nigerian football delegations whenever they are in town.
No casualties have been reported at the time of filing this report, but a few persons may have suffered minor degree burns. Fire brigade officers are still battling the fire.
