Africa: Gambia and Ghana Tourism stakeholders Sign MOU in Banjul

Stakeholders in the tourism industry in Gambia and Ghana have both signed a Memorandum of Understanding to grow the sector among both countries.

The historic signing ceremony of the Memorandum of understanding between the tourism stakeholder of the sister republic of Ghana and The Gambia took place at the Senegambia Beach Hotel on Tuesday 29th April 2019.

The Ghanaian delegation comprise of Madam Bella Abu , President of Ghana Tourism Federation , Kwesi Eyison , C E O of Pacific Tours , Nana Ba Weredu , Consultant As per Tours and Charles Obeng of The Ghana Tourism Authority. The Gambian delegation comprise of Bunnama Njie , Chair Gambia Hotel Association , Marion Nyan Exec Secretary GHA , Adama Njie , Director of Marketing GHA , Fatou Beyai Raji , Representative of DG Tourism Board , Dawda Nyang DG GTHI ; Joanna Sallah and myself as Chairman of The Tourism Regional Marketing committee. I wish to thank all the stakeholders who grace the event.

Special thanks and appreciation to the CEO of Gambia Chamber of Commerce Alieu Secka who graced the event as one of the pioneers of this collaboration together with former Minister of Tourism & Culture Madam Fatou Mass Jobe Njie among those who laid the foundation.

Looking forward to a lasting collaboration. The signing ceremony could not have come at a better time than now when all of us are working towards the achievement of the SDG goals.
