His Excellency, Governor Ben Ayade on Wednesday, 22nd March, 2017 approved the appointment of Mrs. Justina Ovat as the General Manager, Tinapa Lakeside Hotel.
Similarly, the governor also appointed the immediate past Ikom council chairman, Hon. (Pst.) Ojong Ayiba Ayiba as Managing Director, Tinapa Business and Leisure Resort.

Justina Ovat is the founder of Calabar Hospitality House Limited, a firm that consults for the tourism and hospitality industry to ensure international best practices and manpower development.
She’s a seasoned, creative and passionate Tourism & Hospitality expert with experience spanning over five years, a Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT) and a Certified Guest service Professional with the American Hotel Lodging & Educational Institute (AHLEI) and also a Certified Hospitality Establishment Grading Assessor with Proserve South Africa, an alumnus of the Institute of Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin and currently a masters student of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.
Justina started her career at the Cross River State Tourism Bureau where she gathered a lot of experience working as an assessment and enforcement officer responsible for ensuring that all tourism and tourism related enterprises operate within the provisions of the regulations and laws governing the industry. She is a one-time manager of Unical Hotel and Conference Centre and also served as the Head of Hospitality Ventures at the University’s Entrepreneurship Development Center.
Justina has also served as the consulting General Manager of the Marina Resort Calabar under Tandem Integrated Services Company Limited, concessioners of Marina Resort Calabar.
