‘SAHCOL has big potentials, and it is one of the leading ground handling companies in Nigeria’, says Rizwan Kadri, the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL). Adding that, ‘I’ve been fortunate enough, as the previous managing director built a solid platform for me to operate on’.
This he said when a team from atqnews.com paid him a courtesy visit in his office, as an effort to further strengthen mutual relationship that has existed between the two in the past.
Responding to the media team during interactions, Mr. Kadri said that in his five months at the helm of affairs at SAHCOL, after revealing the previous efforts of the past Managing Director, he explained that SAHCOL has great potentials, saying that ‘ we are growing, we are not stagnating’.
He equally revealed that soon enough, SAHCOL would be quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) after the necessary requirements are put in place, as the process to achieve that is still on going.
He said that the company has a plan to continue staff training and review staff salaries in the future, adding that the company’s infrastructures and equipment upgrades are steps to further position the company to continue to move forward into the future.
Atqnews.com raised the issues that SAHCOL has been absent in recent years from travel exhibitions which create an avenue for the company to continue to reach out and interact with travel, tourism and other relevant publics as an effort to brand its position as a foremost ground handling company in Nigeria.
Mr. Kadri, reacting, promised that the company is still in the ‘process’ of putting its house in order, and that soon enough, even before the oncoming exhibition, they would be willing to consider participating.
He equally revealed that SAHCOL is also on the process of expanding its operations into other countries in West Africa, as it is currently considering several options along that line.
The issues of the company’s security was equally addressed by the Managing Director, as he tapped on their security compliance to standard requirements and their maintaining top quality security hardware to compliment the security responsibility of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) within the airport’s space.
It would be recalled that Mr. Rizwan Kadri took over from Dr. Oluropo Owolabi on the 4th January. And until his new appointment, Rizwan Kadri was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited.
Mr. Kadri is a senior Aviation Ground/Airport Operations Executive and International Air Transport Association (IATA) Certified Aviation Management Professional (AvMP), and he brings with him substantial expertise in International Aviation Ground and Airport Operations, as well as significant leadership experience.
He is a graduate of Science from the Mumbai University, India, and also holds an Executive M.B.A in Aviation and Quality Systems Management, from the National Institute of Business Management, India.
Kadiri attended many aviation courses, amongst which were IATA Station and Ground Handling Management, Airport Management, Corporate Leadership Challenge, Dangerous Goods Handling (DGR), Ramp Handling, Basic Cargo and Baggage Service Skills, Weight and Balance (Load Control) and many more aviation related trainings.
The Managing Director has over 25 years of extensive international experience in Aviation Management. He is an expert motivator who had demonstrated an excellent track record in leading large teams, with well-developed management competencies.
