As the global fight to contain the Coronavirus pandemic continues, Dubai Emirate is already looking ahead and devising ways to resuscitate businesses following the lockdown.
In a 15-page document, the Government of Dubai outlined the guidelines and protocols for reopening of businesses, which all businesses must strictly adhere to before and after the date of reopening.
Accordingly, all businesses within the emirate must take the necessary measures and precautions to be in compliance with the guidelines and protocols detailed in the document, prior to reopening and continue to do so on resuming their operations.
On the announcement of the reopening, businesses will only be allowed to reopen after they have complied with the guidelines and protocols, and ready to receive customers/resume operations.
Therefore, all businesses must be on standby for the official announcements on the date of reopening and timings which will be announced shortly.
The Dubai Municipality, Dubai Economy (Corporate Compliance and Consumer Protection Sector) and other relevant government departments will reach out to provide additional guidelines and instructions as and when required.
Sectors expected to reopen include: wholesale and retail trade, transport and logistics, construction, manufacturing and social welfare services.
Some of the guidelines and protocols to be observed are: 24hr office/mall/factory sanitization, entrance health checks, provision of masks and hand sanitizers, mandatory isolation rooms, among others.
