Amid preparations for his forthcoming album, Richer Than I Ever Been, rapper Rick Ross just increased his portfolio – of real estate.
According to moguldom.com, the Maybach Music boss whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II revealed that he acquired an additional 87 acres in Fayetteville, Georgia for a whooping US$1 million via his Instagram account, with the photo captioned: “Promise land just got BIGGER.”
The land is near one of Rick Ross’ other famed estates. That property includes a sprawling 54,0000-square foot mansion that has more than 100 rooms, a 135-person movie theater, an Olympic-size swimming pool, sprawling landscapes, a lake, a horse stable, and a baseball field.
It was previously owned by boxing champ Evander Holyfield and Ross purchased it in 2014. The mansion has even been featured in the 2018 remake of Superfly and an episode of Fox’s Star. People will also get to see it in Eddie Murphy’s Coming 2 America, the sequel to his 1988 classic, which is slated to premiere on Amazon in December.
Some fans congratulated Ross on the purchase. “It must be a blessing to Be able to buy anything in the world and never have to be told no,” one user commented. “Congratulations but please Support black realtors,” added user @krys_aubreycam.
“I am a black realtor I’ll always support us in this field!” Even former WNBA star Lisa Leslie, who is a realtor, chimed in to shoot her shot for future purchases. “Awesome, but next time let me sell it to you,” Leslie wrote.
