Nigerian award winning gospel singer and song writer, Osinachi Kalu, popularly known as Sinach, is heading to Seychelles for a two day stop after a failed attempt to perform at a concert in Europe.
According to atqnews.com, the gospel artist was billed to perform at The “Open Heaven: Worship Experience” concert last Tuesday night at the National Park, but has now been pushed back to May 13.
This is after the “I Know Who I Am” singer had problems with her “travelling documents”.
On her “Sinach: Live” tour, the gospel performer was expected to headline a show in the Netherlands on April 15, before hitting Suriname on April 17, and then Guyana on April 18.
However, the Suriname and Guyana shows never came off, after the issue with travel documents saw the “Waymaker” singer missing all her connecting flights over the weekend.
Sinach flew into the island of Seychelles by Ethiopian Airlines last Saturday together with Alain St.Ange, the island’s former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports & Marine, and now the Seychelles Candidate for Secretary general of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) who was returning home after attending the UNWTO CAF Meeting of African Ministers in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.
As they posed in Ethiopian Airline for a souvenir photo in the company of Anne Lafortune, the PS for Tourism of Seychelles and Meseret Tekalign, the Seychelles Manager of Ethiopian Airlines, former Seychelles Minister St.Ange wished Sinach well and a great stay in Seychelles. The Nigerian Award Winning Gospel Singer and former Minister St.Ange also used the opportunity to discuss the friendly ties existing between Seychelles and Nigeria.
In her open air Gospel Concert in Victoria, the Capital of the Seychelles, Sinach mentioned her meeting with Minister St.Ange and said publicly that she wished him well with the Seychelles bid for Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
The song writer however apologized to her fans for the botched concert in Europe.
She said: “Hello Suriname and Guyana! This is Sinach,” she began.
“I am so sorry that I will not be with you at the worship concert; this is due to some problems and challenges with travelling documents, but we are resolving it and we are planning with organisers to come on a later date; on May 12 for Suriname, and May 13 for Guyana.
“So I’m looking forward to seeing all of you. God bless you!” Sinach said in a Facebook video.
Hoyte noted that while all previously purchased tickets are still valid for the new date, full refunds are still being offered to anyone who wants that option.
