The flight attendant and Dutch officials met more than they bargained for when Nigerians on board a KLM flight heading to Lagos, resisted the deportation of fellow citizen.
The incident which has gone viral on social media has not been verified by the Dutch authorities, especially the time the video was shot.
Enraged by what they considered inhumane and cruel treatment, the passengers threatened to prevent the plane from taking off after they spotted the deportee in chains.
A video of the incident, which was uploaded on Facebook and has gone viral on different social media platforms, showed the passengers protesting what they described as the maltreatment of the Nigerian.
Some of the passangers could be heard, vowing not to allow the incidents continue with some urging the Nigerian government to take immediate action to address the rising trend.
Over the weekend, the German authorities and other European countries deported 50 Nigerian migrants including a German-born ISIS suspect.
Since the rise of populism across the Western countries, there have been deliberate efforts by their government to tighten their immigration laws that have seen over 200 Nigerians deported from Europe alone in the last three months.
Concerned with the growing trend, the passengers refused to allow the Dutch airline plane to take off unless the Nigerian deportee is unchained and allowed to travel with dignity.
There is no official confirmation yet.
