Seven months after it suspended it flight operations following an incident at the Kotoka International Airport, Ghana, Starbow Airlines has announced that the airline is soon to resume full commercial operations in July.
The carrier according to atqnews.com skidded off the runway at Kotoka International Airport on Saturday 25th November 2017 during its take-off with 63 passengers on board.
Deputy Aviation Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko who disclosed the resumption of the carrier said the airline said the airline is set to take to the skies.
According to mobile.ghanaweb.com, A 5-member committee set up to investigate the 2017 crash blamed the incident on poor weather and the pilot.
Briefing parliament on the outcome of the investigation February this year, the Aviation Minister said following the investigative report ordered the local airline company to review its operational procedures and retrain its crew.
Not long ago, there are news of passengers of domestic airline, Africa World Airlines (AWA) getting stranded and frustrated for hours before being airlifted to their destinations.
This, according to the passengers, who spoke to Starr News was due to the monopoly being enjoyed by Africa World Airlines following the suspension of operations by Starbow last year.
But, that is about to change with the disclosure by the deputy Aviation Minister.
“Currently, as we speak, they plan to come back in July,” Okyere-Darko told Starr Business’ Fred Dzakpata. “They are re-strategizing, re-organizing themselves,” he added.
Starbow airline had previously had similar incident that threw in the industry.
Atqnews.com, reports that in 2015, passengers on board a Tamale-bound Starbow airline, had the scare of their lives when the aircraft, BAE with registration 9GSBB, crash landed in Tamale although no injuries were recorded.
