The Federal Government of Nigeria has extended the closure of the country’s airspace to international flight operations till October 2020 instead of the earlier August 19th resumption date.
According to a Notice To Air Men (NOTAM), issued by the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and confirmed by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika on his twitter handle, the country’s airspace is to remain closed to international flights for the next 90 days.
The minister said the government will announce a suitable date for the resumption of international flights in the country in liaison with the Ministry of Health, Foreign Affairs and Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19.
He however stated that the airspace might be reopened earlier than October regardless of the ban by Europe, United Arab Emirates.
