Togolese President, Faure Gnassingbe on Monday inaugurated a new terminal at Lome Airport which cost $150 million. The two-floor 6000 m² building is equipped with new state-of-the-art material including fifty check-in counters three of which are automatic.

With this new terminal, we will deal with 2 to 3 million passengers per year, the Director of Togo’s National Civil Aviation Agency, Colonel Dokisime Gnama-Latta told the African Press Agency.

By this project the Togolese authorities have articulated their intent to turn Lome into a genuine sub-regional hub.

Lome Airport handles a dozen airlines and with this new terminal, new companies including Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Egypt Air, Arik Air and Kenya Airways are getting on board.
