The show talked about her Ugandan name Nagawa and the difference (is there any?) between expats & migrants. “We talked about fulfilling my teenage desire to live in Africa and my reason for coming here, as a VSO volunteer with the Uganda Conservation Foundation.
“I find Uganda endlessly inspiring.” #TalkWithGaetano asked “which one thing stands out most in my time here?” The answer even surprised me! We talked about ignorance about Africa. We also talked about my favourite Ugandan dish: KATOGO – matooke and groundnut sauce – and missing my mum’s cooking:(Food is taking an even bigger part of my life now I’m writing for Yummy Magazine Uganda).
And of course we discussed ‘that dating blog!’
In Part 3 of #TalkWithGaetano we talked about Uganda’s famous rollex street food! I sang the praises of the East Africa Tourist Visa and the Interstate Pass and how Uganda tourism is being promoted internationally. To mark International Women’s Day, I said “Ugandan guys need to think about their attitude towards women” (well, he did ask!)
