The much-anticipated 6th edition of the Jollof Rice War, one of the standout features of the Akwaaba African Travel Market, concluded with a thrilling competition at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.
Nine talented chefs from across Nigeria competed for the top spot, showcasing their culinary expertise with diverse and mouthwatering variations of the iconic Jollof rice.

This year’s competition added even more excitement, with renowned Nigerian chefs treating attendees to delectable Jollof rice recipes infused with creative twists and secret ingredients.

The winners were determined by a panel of judges that included beauty queens from across the African continent and seasoned Nigerian travel journalists.
In a surprising outcome, Chef Adefuye Adewunmi and Chef Onyekachi Aaron emerged as joint winners, both earning the coveted first-place position for their exceptional dishes.
Their creativity, presentation, and flavors captured the hearts (and taste buds) of the judges in what was described as a “keenly contested” battle.
