Maimuna Mohamed, the Corporate Sales Manager, Heritage Hotels Kenya, has won the coveted Africa Travel 100 Award which recognises exceptional women in the travel and tourism sector.
As a Corporate Sales Manager, she works to promote the image of Heritage Hotels Kenya and the products and services the hotel has to offer. She develops corporate relationships with new and existing clients to enhance the company’s growth and maximize sales.
With 25 years’ experience, I believe I can make invaluable contributions towards the development of the tourism and hospitality industry in Kenya and Africa at large. I have been a member of SKAL International Nairobi Chapter since 2010 and a member of Kenya Association of Women in Tourism (KAWT) since 2011.
During this time, I have held a number of leadership positions within KAWT including Executive Committee Member responsible for MICE and Champion of Mentorship for my active involvement in the KAWT Mentorship Program. Additionally, I was nominated to be the KAWT Representative on the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) Gender and Youth Sub-Board.
I value family, kindness and nurturing our youth. I endeavour to pay forward the benevolence and support I have received, through mentorship and community involvement targeted at young people, from high school level, seeking to pursue a career in Tourism and Hospitality. I thank God for my beautiful family, who love and support me and who keep me grounded.
