Mary Muricho, the Founder and Director of Reverie Adventures Limited, a tour and travel company in Kenya, has been named among the winners of Africa’s Travel 100 Women Award.
Mary, launched in 2020 with one simple goal: to help people create lasting travel memories.
What began as a side hustle born from her own love of exploring new places has since grown into a respected brand known for crafting deeply personal and seamless travel experiences. “I’ve always believed that travel isn’t just about going somewhere, it’s about how it makes you feel, and the stories you come back with,” says Mary.
That belief drives every trip she plans, whether it’s a luxury safari in the Maasai Mara, a quiet beach retreat in Diani or Zanzibar, or a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon in the Maldives. Reverie Adventures offers more than just bookings.
Mary and her team handle full-service planning flights, accommodation, activities, and extras like visa support, corporate retreats, agritourism packages, and team-building experiences. Every detail is designed with care, with a focus on making each journey smooth, stress-free, and memorable.
Her personal approach has earned her the trust of clients across Kenya, Africa, and beyond. One of her most meaningful moments came when she helped a couple pull off a surprise engagement trip to Zanzibar. “Seeing the joy and emotion in their photos afterward, that’s when I knew this was more than just business,” she recalls.
Beyond running her company, Mary has taken an active role in shaping the industry. Since November 2023, she’s served as the Organising Secretary of the Tour Operators Society of Kenya (TOSK), where she supports unity and innovation among travel professionals. She’s also a proud member of the Kenya Association of Women in Tourism (KAWT), championing women’s leadership and sustainable, community-based tourism.
