Minor International, the global hospitality and lifestyle conglomerate, is setting its sights on expanding its presence across Africa and across South Africa after taking over the former Hilton Sandton and officially reopening it as NH Sandton.
Lindi Mthethwa, Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for Minor Hotels made this know while talking to Travel News.
The NH Sandton became Minor’s first property in South Africa. However, it will also mark the debut of Minor’s NH Collection brand in Africa when NH Sandton’s 24-month refurbishment is complete.
The NH Sandton’s rebranding to NH Collection Sandton will be completed in early 2027. Once refurbished, the 329-key property’s guest room categories will include lead-in rooms, suites, one-bedroom suites and the 145 sqm Royal Suite. Facilities will include two restaurants and two bars, an executive lounge, conference facilities, a gym and large outdoor swimming pool.

Minor’s NH hotel brand primarily caters for business and leisure travellers seeking comfortable, functional accommodation at a mid-range price point. Its NH Collection brand is aimed at discerning travellers looking for a more luxurious, premium experience, whether for business or leisure. NH offers a range of amenities, including free WiFi, fitness centres, meeting rooms, and restaurants. “The focus is on providing practical, efficient services to meet the needs of travellers,” Mthethwa said.
NH Collection provides upscale amenities and personalised services, including gourmet dining options, spa services, high-end fitness centres, and state-of-the-art meeting and event facilities. “The emphasis is on providing a superior, memorable experience,” Mthethwa noted.
Given its location in Sandton, Minor markets the hotel extensively to corporate clients, including business executives and professionals attending meetings, conferences, and corporate events. “The hotel offers facilities for meetings and events, attracting conference attendees and organisers who require convenient accommodation close to event venues,” Mthethwa concluded.
