Chief Executive Officer – Phuka Travel Agency, Unoda Mahilo is a young Motswana woman entrepreneur and the Founder of Phuka Travel Agency, a proudly citizen-owned travel and tourism company built from her passion for tourism and her determination to contribute meaningfully to Botswana’s tourism industry.

As a young woman building a business in the tourism sector, Unoda’s journey has been driven by ambition, resilience and a desire to demonstrate that young women can build sustainable businesses, create employment and contribute meaningfully to Botswana’s economic development.
Under her leadership, Phuka Travel has grown into a dynamic travel business offering domestic,
inbound and outbound travel services, including air ticketing, accommodation, safari experiences, corporate travel, school and educational trips, and tailor-made leisure experiences. The company has also achieved IATA accreditation, strengthening its capacity to connect travellers to Botswana, the region and international destinations.
For Unoda, however, building a successful company has never been enough. She believes that
business success should extend beyond profit and create meaningful impact in the communities in which businesses operate.
