South Sudan’s Lona Nalurit has won the coveted Africa Travel 100 Award which recognises exceptional women in the travel and tourism sector.
Lona Nalurit, works for the Ministry of Wildlife Conservation and Tourism, Republic of South Sudan.
Under the Directorate of Wildlife Conservation and Management, I head a Department of Multilateral Environmental Agreements for the last four years, providing technical advice to the Ministry on its obligations and implications of ratifying Environmental Conventions, treaties and agreements, providing guidance on negotiation and implementation of Conventions, treaties etc and other regional and global environmental and conservation governance initiatives.
With such responsibilities, I had been a regular traveler to different destination to participate and engage in Multi-lateral negotiation processes being national, regional or international level.
This has exposed me to different tourism destination sites especially in Africa. Apart from profession, travel is what I like for vacation with my family being by air or road.
