Uganda has officially clarified that travellers entering the country are no longer required to present a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate, in a move expected to simplify travel and improve access to the destination. The clarification was issued by Uganda’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Citizenship and Immigration Control (NCIC) in a letter dated August 27, 2026, addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Tourism Board.
According to the letter, the Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is no longer a mandatory requirement for entry into Uganda. The immigration authorities noted that the requirement is no longer listed on Uganda’s e-visa application portal or on the National Citizenship and Immigration Control website. “Accordingly, travelers to Uganda do not require a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate for entry,” the letter stated.
The clarification followed a request from the Uganda Tourism Board seeking confirmation of the Yellow Fever vaccination certificate requirement for international travellers. The NCIC said the clarification was intended to formally communicate the current entry requirements and advised travellers seeking further information to contact its Public Relations Office.
The development could help simplify travel arrangements for international visitors and tourism operators marketing Uganda as a destination, particularly as the country continues efforts to expand international tourism and improve the ease of travel.
