Uloma Egbuna, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tour Brokers International Limited (TBI), has been listed in the award and recognition for Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria even as her company, TBI has won the M.I.C.E. Company of the Year award in Nigeria for 2018.
The listing of the Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria by Travellers Magazine is historic and an effort to cast in gold the faces of the people who are behind the great effort and deep sacrifices in promoting tourism in Nigeria despite the harsh conditions they operate within the tourism landscape in Nigeria. Travellers Magazine is the first travel magazine in West Africa, remaining consistent in its publications for over 22 years.
Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria list was set up to recognize individuals who have distinguished themselves as foremost and outstanding drivers in the travel and tourism industry in Nigeria; and through their efforts and or that of their organizations have impacted positively on the travel and tourism sector in Nigeria, stimulating and helping to achieve the country’s tourism goals and forging interactions among stakeholders and customers across the country. This is the second edition. In 1999 Travellers Magazine published its first Compilation of the Nigerian Top 100 Tourism Club. Almost two decades later the list needs to be updated. Uloma Egbuna emerged on that list.

Uloma Egbuna’s TBI is a multiple award-winning IATA approved Tour Operator incorporated in 2002 to professionally package tourism services to selective destinations, for Nigerian business and leisure travellers and expatriates living in Nigeria.
With nearly three decades experience in the travel and tourism industry, she has attended several international courses on Tourism. Egbuna, an indigene of Imo State, holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Languages and Linguistics from the University of Calabar and a Master of Arts (MA) degree also in the same field from the University of Ibadan, and a Diploma in French.
As a core professional that pays attention to details with requisite credentials, Madam Uloma has successfully steered TBI on and has established strategic affiliations with complementing local and international companies. With unrivalled innovative ideas and high credibility to deliver on its promise by providing services that are perceived and received as excellent by its clients. With extensive travel experience, she has firsthand knowledge of many locations and has organized several tour packages to different parts of the world. She has a burning passion for travel and tourism.
Her innovative leadership has given TBI recognition beyond the shores of Nigeria with TBI representing international brands such as Emirates Holidays, Beds Online and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line in Nigeria. Tour Brokers International birthed two other companies, Bespoke Holidays and TBI Cruises and Tours. She is a travel professional who is knowledgeable, capable and passionate about the services TBI promotes and offers. She is a past publicity secretary of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agents (1993- 1996) and also held the position of the Vice President (West) of the Nigerian Association of Tour Operators (NATOP).
