Zimbabwe to chair UNWTO African regional Caf

UNWTO’s six Regional Commissions have elected new chairs and vice-chairs, as well as the host countries of their meetings in 2016. The decisions were made on the occasion of the ongoing 21st UNWTO General Assembly in Medellín, Colombia (12-13 September 2015).

Regional Commission for Africa (CAF)

Chair: Zimbabwe
Vice chairs: Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire

Host of the next CAF: Côte d’Ivoire

 

Regional Commission for the Americas (CAM)

Chair: Haiti
Vice chairs: Paraguay, Chile

Host of the next CAM: Cuba

 

Regional Commission for East Asia and the Pacific (CAP)

Chair:  Philippines
Vice chairs: Cambodia, Japan

Host of the next CAP: Japan (Joint CAP/CSA meeting)

 

Regional Commission for Europe (CEU)

Chair: Switzerland
Vice chairs: Montenegro, Lithuania

Host of the next CEU: Lithuania

 

Regional Commission for the Middle East (CME)

Chair: Lebanon
Vice chairs: Egypt, Jemen

Host of the next CME: Lebanon

 

Regional Commission for South Asia (CSA)

Chair: India
Vice chairs: Bangladesh, Afghanistan

Host of the next CSA: Japan Joint CAP/CSA meeting)
