The 35th Ordinary Plenary Session of the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) is currently underway in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, running from November 26th to 29th.
This key event, held every three years, is a critical preparatory meeting ahead of the 42nd Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization in 2025.
According to anac.ao, the opening speech by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Congo, Dr. Anatole Collinet Makosso, highlighted Africa’s growing resilience and the importance of intra-African connectivity to achieve the African Union’s Agenda 2063 goals.
The opening speech was given by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Congo, Dr. Anatole Collinet Makosso, who pointed out that the resilience of states is strengthening Africa, creating space for greater intra-African connectivity and closer regional and international cooperation, with a view to fulfilling the African Union’s 63 Agenda and the integration of the continent.
During the first two days of work, the Chairs and General Managers of Civil Aviation in Africa will have on their agenda the Report Review of the 34th Session of CAFAC’s Plenary, the Review and Adoption of the External Auditor’s Reports, the Creation of the next Permanent Committees, the Election of the New CAFAC Bureau, the Strategy Definition of African States for the 42nd Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), among other topics.
November 28th is reserved for the High Level Ministerial Meeting and the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Yamoussoukro Decision under the slogan “The path to achieve the 2063 Agenda Goals of the African Union”.
Angola is participating in the event with a delegation led by the State Secretary for Civil Aviation, Maritime and Port Sectors, Rui Carreira, including ANAC’s Chairwoman, Amélia Domingues Kuvíngua and senior ANAC officials.
