Accra City Hotel is positioning itself as a gateway for Nigerian travellers seeking seamless leisure and hospitality experiences in Ghana, combining city accommodation in Accra with resort experiences in the country’s Eastern Region.
Speaking at the just-concluded 22nd Akwaaba African Travel Market in Lagos, Frances Arthur, Acting Sales and Marketing Manager of Accra City Hotel, said the hotel has developed packages combining the Accra City Hotel and Peninsula Resort to provide visitors with accommodation, meals, transportation and curated tourism experiences under one arrangement.
According to Arthur, the packages are designed to allow travellers to simply arrange their flights to Ghana while the hotel takes care of the rest of the experience, including tours, meals, accommodation and concierge services.
She said the Accra City Hotel, located in the heart of Accra, offers a business-hotel experience, while the Peninsula Resort in the Eastern Region provides a leisure experience overlooking the Akosombo River and dam. The resort is about two hours from Accra and offers activities including hiking, a 550-metre canopy walk, golfing, boat cruises, tennis and horse riding.
Arthur also highlighted the hotel’s focus on creating a familiar culinary experience for Nigerian visitors by incorporating Nigerian dishes alongside Ghanaian delicacies.

“We understand where you are coming from, and we create that kind of experience,” she said, adding that the hotel wants visitors to Ghana to enjoy both the country’s hospitality and its cuisine.
“There is a lot that we can come together and then do in terms of travel, tour experience and all that. And you know that within West Africa, Ghana is the hub of hospitality and we give it very well. So we have put together certain packages that combine our two main hotels, that is the Accra City Hotel and the Peninsula Resort.
“The Accra City Hotel is a business hotel, but it is located in Accra, the heart of Accra. And then we have the Peninsula Resort that is located in the eastern region. That is a resort that overlooks the Akosombo River and then the dam as well.
“So what we do is that, just plan your flights, that’s all. Get to Ghana, we take over. So we take over your tour, we take over your meals, your accommodation, the entire experience.”
