Africa: Aviation Minister Leads A Technical Team To Inspect Uyo Airport Facilities Ahead Of International Upgrade

A Federal Government technical committee led by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, has conducted an on-the-spot inspection of facilities at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, as part of efforts to upgrade the airport to full international status.

The high-level delegation expressed satisfaction with the quality, scope and pace of work being carried out by the Akwa Ibom State Government under the leadership of Governor Umo Eno.

From the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility to the modern terminal infrastructure, the airport was described as meeting world-class standards. Officials noted that the development positions Uyo as an emerging aviation hub with strong potential to boost connectivity, attract investment and drive economic growth in the region.
