Commercial flight operations by the Bayelsa State-owned airline officially commenced yesterday, marking a significant milestone in the state’s transportation and economic development drive.

The airline launched scheduled services connecting Yenagoa to major Nigerian cities including Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Uyo, providing improved air connectivity for residents, businesses, and travelers within and outside the state.

The commencement of operations is expected to boost commerce, tourism, investment opportunities, and ease of movement across the region, while positioning Bayelsa as a growing hub for business and aviation activities in the Niger Delta.

State officials described the development as a major achievement aimed at enhancing transportation infrastructure and supporting broader economic growth initiatives. The new airline services are also expected to reduce travel stress for passengers who previously relied heavily on neighboring airports for air travel access.

The launch represents another step in the Bayelsa State Government’s efforts to strengthen connectivity and expand critical infrastructure to support development across the state.
