Africa: Boeing and Nigeria’s Ministry of Aviation Forge Strategic Partnership to Ease Access to Aircraft Leasing

Aircraft manufacturing giant, Boeing International Corporation, along with representative from Nigeria’s Aviation Sector, paid a visit to the Honorable Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, SAN, at his office to discuss ways to facilitate easy access to aircraft leasing for local airlines.

According to the Special Assistant on Digital MEDIA to the Hon. Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Gbenga Saka, the meeting marked a pivotal step toward establishing a strategic partnership, with a focus on leveraging the Cape Town Convention to simplify aircraft leasing processes and address key challenges.

During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the significance of the partnership, recognizing the potential benefits of the Cape Town Convention. Boeing’s extensive global experience in implementing the convention and their commitment to knowledge transfer were prominently highlighted.

The collaborative discussion identified tailored solutions and explored mechanisms for streamlined processes. Key points included legal and regulatory alignment, along with discussions on capacity building through training programs. The meeting sets the stage for positive impacts on local airlines’ ease of access to aircraft leasing, marking a significant advancement for Nigeria’s aviation sector.
