The organizers of the CHINET Aviacargo Conference have announced that Capt. Samuel Caulcrick, Aviation Consultant and Executive with Merchant Express Cargo Limited, will be speaking at the 5th edition of the conference scheduled to take place on 16th September 2025 at the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.
Capt. Caulcrick will lead discussions on the topic: “Profitability of Air Cargo Business in Nigeria,” drawing from his vast expertise and deep experience in the aviation sector. His presentation will address one of the industry’s most pressing issues — how to unlock sustainable revenue streams within Nigeria’s growing cargo and logistics market.
The conference, themed “How e-Commerce is Shaping the Future of Logistics in Africa,” is expected to gather key stakeholders from across the aviation, logistics, insurance, freight forwarding, and e-commerce industries. Top government agencies, airlines, logistics firms, hotels, and diplomats will also be in attendance.
Highlighting the importance of the air cargo sector, the organizers emphasized that cargo remains critical to Nigeria’s economy, particularly for exports, logistics efficiency, and trade facilitation. With the rising influence of e-commerce across Africa, there is a renewed urgency to improve profitability, efficiency, and safety in the sector — areas that Capt. Caulcrick’s session will shed light on.
Since inception, CHINET has also maintained strong collaboration with the insurance industry, with captains of insurance companies actively participating in its sessions. At last year’s edition, the Commissioner for Insurance delivered a keynote that spurred deep engagement with aviation operators on risk management and coverage.
This year’s edition will hold alongside the 21st Akwaaba African Travel Market, West Africa’s largest travel and tourism fair. With over 3,000 participants expected, including aviation executives, policymakers, exporters, logistics providers, insurers, and travel professionals, CHINET provides a unique platform for meaningful dialogue and partnerships.
In addition to cargo and logistics, the event will feature sessions on medical tourism and travel insurance, creating opportunities for HMOs, hospitals, and insurers to showcase solutions tailored to Africa’s growing travel market.
