According to Jumia Travel’s latest report on Ethiopian tourism

According to Jumia Travel’s latest report on Ethiopian tourism, presented at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Addis Ababa on 16 February, the Ethiopian Ministry of Culture and Tourism hopes to increase to 1 million tourist arrivals and $ 29.8 billion in tourism revenues in 2017.

“The country is looking for a change that will bring the tourism sector to a higher level, locally and internationally, so that Ethiopia is one of the top five African destinations and we are also integrating Technology in the tourism industry , “said Solomon Tadesse, CEO of the Ethiopian Tourism Corporation.

To achieve its objectives, Ethiopian Airlines also has the most dynamic airline on the continent.

Increasing the contribution of the tourism sector to GDP is of great importance for Ethiopia. According to Alexander Burtenshaw, director of Jumia Travel Ethiopia, “the growth of the tourism industry has led to a reduction in Ethiopia’s dependence on the agricultural sector.”
