The Lagos State Government has sealed five hotels in Ikorodu for violating environmental regulations, reaffirming its commitment to enforcing compliance with environmental standards and safeguarding public health across the state. The enforcement operation was carried out by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) following inspections that uncovered multiple environmental infractions at the affected establishments.
According to Daily Post, the hotels sealed are Docklands Hotels, Royal Tree Hotel and Suite, Rivera Hotel, Medallion Hotel, and Daval Spring Hotel. According to LASEPA, the facilities were shut down for failing to comply with environmental laws and regulatory requirements designed to protect residents and the environment. The agency said the enforcement action forms part of the Lagos State Government’s ongoing efforts to ensure that businesses, particularly those in the hospitality sector, operate in accordance with environmental regulations and adopt sustainable practices.

LASEPA reiterated that hotels and other commercial establishments have a responsibility to comply with standards relating to environmental management, including noise control, waste disposal and pollution prevention. The agency warned that it would continue monitoring businesses across the state and would not hesitate to sanction operators found in breach of environmental laws.
Officials stressed that environmental compliance is essential to maintaining a healthy and livable city, especially in a rapidly growing megacity like Lagos, where tourism, hospitality and residential communities coexist. The latest enforcement underscores the Lagos State Government’s broader strategy of promoting responsible business practices while ensuring that hotels and other hospitality facilities meet the environmental standards expected of a leading tourism and commercial destination.
