Fourth and Fifth Editions of the “Detty December” Dialogue Shift to March 19 and April 2 in Respect of Major Religious Observances.

The organizers of the Naija7Wonders Zoom Conference 3.0 “Detty December” have officially announced a slight adjustment to the dates of the upcoming fourth and fifth editions of the conference, a move designed to respect two major religious observances celebrated by millions of Nigerians.

Originally scheduled to hold on Friday, March 20, 2026, and Friday, April 3, 2026, the sessions will now take place one day earlier, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, and Thursday, April 2, 2026. The decision was made to honour Eid al-Fitr, celebrated by Muslims, and Good Friday, a significant day in the Christian calendar.

According to the organizers, the shift reflects a conscious effort to create an inclusive platform that respects the diverse religious traditions of participants. By moving the conference dates slightly forward, attendees will be able to fully observe their religious commitments while still participating in the growing conversation around Nigeria’s tourism development.

The Naija7Wonders Zoom Conference, convened by respected tourism advocate Amb. Ikechi Uko, returned earlier this year on February 6, 2026, with a renewed focus on examining the lessons and long-term impact of Nigeria’s famous festive tourism season, popularly known as “Detty December.” Since its return, the platform has successfully delivered three powerful editions, bringing together policy leaders, industry veterans, tourism entrepreneurs, and private sector voices to reflect on how the December travel surge is shaping Nigeria’s hospitality and tourism economy.

Through lively discussions and firsthand industry insights, the sessions have highlighted the economic ripple effects of the festive season—from hotels and airlines to entertainment venues, restaurants, and creative industries that benefit from the annual influx of visitors.

The conversations have also provided participants with a clearer understanding of how Nigeria can harness the growing global attention around its festive tourism culture.

At the third edition of the conference, the convener hinted at the direction of the upcoming sessions, explaining that discussions will gradually expand beyond Detty December to explore the wider landscape of Nigeria’s festivals. Describing the country’s rich festival calendar as an underutilized asset, he noted that many traditional and cultural festivals across Nigeria possess the potential to become powerful tourism attractions if properly packaged and promoted.

As the conference prepares for its fourth and fifth editions, participants are encouraged to update their calendars and remain part of the ongoing dialogue.

The revised dates—Thursday, March 19, 2026, and Thursday, April 2, 2026—will continue at the conference’s regular time slot and promise more engaging discussions on how Nigeria can transform its cultural experiences into sustainable tourism opportunities.

With each edition, the Naija7Wonders Zoom Conference continues to strengthen its reputation as a thoughtful platform for shaping the future of Nigerian tourism.

The decision to adjust the dates in honour of both Muslim and Christian observances also reflects the broader spirit of the initiative—celebrating diversity while bringing people together to discuss the opportunities that lie ahead for the nation’s tourism industry.
