Rano Air has announced the temporary suspension of some of its flight routes following what it described as an unprecedented rise in the cost of Jet A1 aviation fuel, which the airline said has increased by more than 300%.
In a public announcement issued by the airline’s management, Rano Air said the sharp increase in fuel prices has made the operation of certain routes “extremely challenging and commercially unsustainable.”
According to the airline, the surge in aviation fuel costs has placed enormous pressure on its operations and significantly affected the broader aviation industry.
“In view of the current situation, Rano Air has taken the difficult but necessary decision to suspend some of our routes temporarily,” the statement read.
The airline expressed regret over the inconvenience the development may cause passengers and business partners, stressing that the decision was reached after careful consideration and in the interest of maintaining safe, reliable, and sustainable operations.
Rano Air also assured customers with existing bookings on the affected routes that assistance would be provided regarding refunds, rescheduling, and rerouting options.
The airline stated that its customer service team remains available to guide affected passengers through available alternatives.
It added that operations on the suspended routes would resume once market conditions improve and become operationally viable again.
Despite the disruptions, the airline reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality service and thanked passengers for their patience, understanding, and continued support during the challenging period.
