The founder of the Doctors On Call Health Support Initiative, Adejobi Adeloye, has unveiled plans to train 10,000 Nigerians in emergency response, telehealth coordination, and healthcare support services in a move aimed at improving emergency medical intervention across the country.
The announcement was disclosed in a post on X by Nigeria Stories, which said the initiative is designed to strengthen healthcare support systems and help reduce preventable deaths nationwide.
According to the post, the training programme will focus on equipping participants with practical skills in emergency response management, virtual healthcare coordination, and basic healthcare support services.
The initiative is expected to create a network of trained responders capable of assisting in emergency situations while supporting healthcare delivery through telehealth systems.
Healthcare experts have repeatedly stressed the need for faster emergency response systems in Nigeria, where delays in accessing medical attention often contribute to avoidable fatalities.
The planned nationwide training is also expected to expand public awareness of emergency healthcare practices while creating opportunities for young Nigerians interested in healthcare support services.
